Primarily, the frame of Barner eyeglasses are made of Italian Mazzuchelli acetate frames. It is comprised of three designs: Williamsburg, Shoreditch, and Kreuzberg.

Williamsburg comes in three colors: light havana, havana, and black. At front view, the width of the frame expands to 138 mm (5.43 in) from temple to temple. At the middle lies a nose bridge with a width of 13 mm (0.51 in) when measured at its bottom and 21 mm (0.83 in) when measured at its top.

The nose bridge separates the circular rims. Yet, although the inner circumference of the rims are perfectly circular, its outside circumference is slightly edged. The arms lengthen up to 145 mm (5.71 in).

Shoreditch may be colored in crystal, havana, and black. Its temple to temple width is 131 mm (5.16 in). There is a keyhole nose bridge at the middle which widens to 14 mm (0.55 in) for its bottom and 21 mm (0.83 in) for its top. Its arms lengthen to 145 mm (5.71 in).

This model also has circular rims but does not employ edged outer circumference.

Lastly, Kreuzberg comes in matt brown, havana, and black. Unlike the other two, this style is slighlty rectangular. From one temple to another, the frame expands to 136 mm (5.35 in). It also employs a keyhole nose bridge with a width of 12 mm (0.47 in) for its bottom and 19 mm (0.75 in) for its top. The arms lengthen to 145 mm (5.71 in).

All of the frames claim to have universal fitting nose pads that are mere extensions of the frame.

The temples are secured with strengthened barrel hinges. The arms have laser printed logo and brand name of Barner near its joint. There is also a metal wiring that can be seen through the arms.

Williamsburg employs circular lenses with a width of 48 mm (1.89 in) and a height of 47 mm (1.85 in). Shoreditch has circular lenses, too, only differing by its width of 47 mm (1.89 in). Kreuzberg has slightly rectangular lenses and is the biggest among Barner styles. It has a width of 48 mm (1.89 in) and 45 mm (1.77 in).

Aside from its blue light filtering system, the lenses of Barner eyewear are scratch-resistant, easy to clean, anti-reflection, anti-static, and super hydrophobic.

All of the lenses of Barner eyewear are prescription-ready. If the user has any current visual problems, Barner could adjust according to their needs.

The stock range for astigmatism (cylinder) is from -4.00 to 4.00; for myopia (near-sightedness) or hyperopia (far-sightedness) is from     -8.00 to +6.00

The Barner eyewear package is enclosed in an Elegant white box with the Barner logo and brand name printed. In the box is a brown leather hard case, an “everyday case,” a microfiber cleaning cloth, and a black-and-white cord.

The hard case is styled like an envelope with a button to close its flap. It still carries the Barner logo and brand name. The material being resistant to water protects the glasses from staining and contamination.

The case is hard enough to absorb shock and impact that could lead to mechanical breakage.

On the other hand, the everyday case is a soft pouch that is lighter and easier to carry than the hard case. Nevertheless, it provides the protection the same as the hard case gives but to a lesser extent.

Meanwhile, the cloth being made of microfiber allows to effectively pick up dust and dirt from the lenses’ surface. If there is a stain, slight pressure using the cloth helps in the removal without scratching its surface. The cord is an additional accessory that may be used to hang the glasses.

It may also be attached to the glasses even worn to prevent slipping.

Barner has three styles to choose from. Each style has three different colors. Although there is only a slight difference among the styles, Barner still tried to showcase variety. This is important for every user to be able to show their personality through the glasses they wear.

The frames of Barner eyewear is made of Italian Mazzuchelli acetate. Acetate is a polymer different from plastics in such a way that it displays more vivid colors and more complex designs.

Acetate frames are not that flexible unlike their rubber cousins but the frames are universal in dimensions that could fit exactly for most individuals. The arms are moldable enough to follow the contours of the user’s head. Thanks to the wire inside each arm.

Plus, there is also a cord to prevent slipping.

The lenses primarily help in reducing the transmission of blue-violet light between 380 to 455 nm. 450 nm is the most dangerous wavelength that causes eye strain, fatigue, sleep disturbance, and many more. 460 nm blue-turquoise light is allowed to pass through because it aids in the production of melatonin, the sleep-inducing hormone, to allow better sleeping.

Additionally, the lenses are hard but have a clean and smooth surface. Through this, easy cleaning is expected and scratches could be prevented. There is also an anti-static layer which prevents the lenses from capturing dust and dirt particles.

A super hydrophobic layer repels moisture that could prevent the occurrence of fogging when the user moves from a place with low to high humidity.

The anti-reflective layer eliminates the possibility of surface reflections. This property provides better clarity and less distractions for the user.

The glasses are originally priced at €149 but is at 40% sale for the “Half Super Early Bird” promo; thus having a price of €89. It sells at 33% sale for the “Early Bird” promo with a price of €99. “Become a Barner” promo comes at a 27% sale with a price of €109.

Barner also has packages. For two eyewear, “Love Pack” promo is available. Instead of €298, there is a 33% sale with a price of €199. “Friend and Family Pack” promo sells five eyewears at 35% sale. Instead of €745, this package sells for only €490.

Ten Barner eyewears can be bought when the consumer avail the “Start-Up Pack.” Originally priced for €1,490, this pack goes on a 37% sale with a price of €940. “Small Medium Business” pack sells 25 eyewears that can be bought for €3,725, originally, but is now at 40% sale selling for €2,225. 50 eyewears can costs at €7,450. With “Corporate Pack,” the consumer could avail 47% off the original price for only €3,950.

Basically all of the prices offered by Barner are just initial prices for their start up period. Later on they will provide a more constant pricing for all the eyewear.

Helpful Tips

Even though this eye wear is of high quality, you should still keep it safe in order to lengthen its life span. So here are some helpful tips that you can follow.

  • Always keep the glasses inside the hard case. This will ensure that damages from sudden fall will be lessened.
  • Don’t use any other cloth in cleaning the lenses. Only use the provided fiber cloth.

Bottom Line

Barner eyeglasses are expensive but bulk packages can help the consumer save a huge amount of money. This allows Barner to expand its market through networking potential secondary sellers.

The price could be justified by the sophistication of the frame design and the high technology used in making the lenses. It is advisable to buy Barner in packages if a consumer want to give it as a gift.

I also suggest that you look first into your budget before investing in this eye wear.

  • High Quality
  • Durable and Lightweight
  • Variety of choices
  • Includes case and cloth

  • Expensive
  • Tinting on the lenses can be darker

Hi Everyone! I created this website to share my thoughts about the solutions to various eye problems that are caused by too much staring at digital screens. I also tackle about preventive measures to minimize the harmful effects of UV rays.

  1. Hey there,

This is another useful review on glasses you gave here. These Banner computer glasses seems like a great quality product and I like it that it comes with some different styles. The tinted glasses can be a great help for me as I use the computer often. That said, I need to be able to adjust the lenses to fit my myopic prescription. It does come at a hefty price though, these are difinitively in my wishlist for Christmas. 😀

    Thanks for sharing!

    1. You got it right. Barner computer glasses offer top notch protection against the harmful blue light. On the other hand, it also comes in above average price so you should be ready before purchasing this product.

    2. Hello Anh!

Thanks for your comment! We understand your point of view about the price, but think that this is the highest quality acetate frames in Italy and lenses with the perfect balance between color perception (almost transparent lenses) and bluelight protection.

I’ve been using glasses since I don’t remember, as I don’t remember any frames + lenses that cost me less than 250 – 300€ with my prescription, with that quality. Through Kickstarter we are offering 89€ (79€ sold out) frames + bluelight protection, and if you need prescription just 25€ more 🙂

Don’t hesitate to contact us for more questions or comments!
