The Bukos glasses has a rectangular rims with curved edges. The frame is made of TR90 polymer that is colored mostly black. It also have some sort of gradient with the bottom part having a transparent color.

At the middle of the rims lie a nose bridge. The bridge is lined with two nose pads, which are just mere extensions of the rims. At the end of the rims are the temples by which an arm is connected via high quality metal hinges.

Each arm is flat that curves downward as it nears the ends. The exposed part of the arms has the Bukos brand name printed near the joints.

The unexposed part, when worn, has the Conformité Européene (CE) logo.

Following the shape and dimensions of the frame, the lenses are also rectangular with slightly curved edges. It blocks 99.9% of harmful electromagnetic radiation, including ultraviolet (UV) and blue light.

The lenses are slightly amber in color blocking 33 to 40% of harmful blue light. Other layers that coat the lenses include anti-scratch, anti-screen flickering, anti-oil, anti-fog, anti-reflective, and anti-glare.

Bukos has not mentioned any magnification grade for this model. Nor do they say anything about the lenses being Rx-able or prescription-ready.

This set of Bukos glasses comes in a box-shaped, virtually indestructible hard case with a light blue cleaning cloth.

Each accessory carries the brand name Bukos. The box has a hard magnetic flap that protects the glasses from staining or contamination by dust, dirt, oil, grease, moisture, etc. Impact and shock can also be resisted by this container so the glasses would be protected from scratching or mechanical breakage.

Meanwhile, the cleaning cloth effectively picks up dirt and dust without scratching the glasses’ surface.

Bukos utilizes one of the most advanced materials for the eyewear industry. It involves the use of the polymer, TR90. Hence, the user can barely feel that he/she is wearing glasses. TR90 may also be referred as “plastic titanium” due to its plastic memory ability.

Even though the nose pads are just extensions of the rims, it will not be a problem for the frame being because it would conform to the contours of the face.

Slipping would also be prevented for the frame could be shaped to hug the user’s head firmly.

Moreover, the CE logo stamped on the frame means that this eyewear has passed the European standards for environment, safety, and health. The frames could be concluded as hypoallergenic and does not release any harmful or toxic chemicals.

On the other hand, the lenses have nine coatings namely: 1) anti-scratch, 2) anti-fog, 3) anti-oil, 4) anti-reflection, 5) anti-screen flickering, 6) anti-glare, 7) anti-electromagnetic ray, 8) anti-UV, and 9) anti-blue light.

The anti-scratch property inhibits the deterioration of the lenses’ surface and protects the succeeding layers. The anti-fog layer is made by a hydrophobic coating that repels moisture onto the surface of the lenses.

Anti-oil layer is made of oleo phobic coating that prevents the formation of fingerprint marks on the lenses’ surface. The anti-oil and anti-fog layers make the lenses resistant from staining. Cleaning of the lenses would be less frequent and does not require high maintenance.

There is an anti-reflection property but it doesn’t completely prevent the metallic blue sheen on the lenses surface.

The lenses being anti-screen flickering allows continuous flow of light to reach the eyes.

With the anti-glare property, the user could see clearly in very bright settings by reducing the intensity of white light. Lastly, the lenses are anti-electromagnetic rays. It blocks 99.9% of harmful electromagnetic rays including UV and harmful blue light.

Some diseases caused by UV rays are photokeratitis, cataracts, macular degeneration, blindness, and, worst, eye cancer. Meanwhile, blue light is most commonly found in radiation-emitting devices like cellular phones, television screens, laptops, desktops, tablets, notebooks, and even fluorescent lights.

Only 33 to 40% of harmful blue light is blocked by the lenses but is enough to prevent eye strain, fatigue, redness, dryness, itching, soreness, irritation, headaches, dizziness, and sleep disturbance.

Users exposed to blue light radiation for 9 hours can be protected by these lenses.

However, though these lenses could only block a maximum of 40% of harmful blue light, the lenses still appear to be yellowish.

This could alter the color of images that may affect users whose job is to professionally edit pictures or videos. Nonetheless, through these lenses, the distortion of contrast could provide an illusion of sharpness. This is applicable for video gaming and watching.

Compared to other computer glasses, Bukos eyewear is priced above average. But I must say that it is just reasonable because of the number of properties that it has for its lenses.

Plus there are also accessories included such as case and cleaning cloth.

Helpful Tips

It is necessary to take care of your glasses. This will ensure that the eyewear can last for a long period of time. So here are some helpful tips that you can take advantage.

  • Always keep the glasses inside the hard case. This will prevent damages that may happen if sudden fall occurs. Dust and oil are also lessened.
  • Only use the provided cloth when cleaning the lenses. Don’t use any other rough material in order to prevent scratches.

Hi Everyone! I created this website to share my thoughts about the solutions to various eye problems that are caused by too much staring at digital screens. I also tackle about preventive measures to minimize the harmful effects of UV rays.

  1. I’m someone who spends a lot of time in front of a computer. Be it working on websites, playing games, or just scrolling through social media.

I have heard about computer glasses, but do they really help to releave eye stress caused by your computers light?

Do you own a pair, and if so did you notice a big difference in how you felt when using them?

    1. Yes, personally it helped in relieving my eye strain. I usually work 8 hours a day in front of the computer. And I felt really uncomfortable. But after using this eyewear, I am able to see a noticeable difference on my eyes. Fatigue and eye strain is greatly reduced
