Simvey computer glasses has rectangular rims with curved edges. Basically, the style it employs is wayfarer.

The lower half of the frame is larger than the upper half. From temple to temple, the frame widens to 139 mm (5.47 in). It has a nose bridge that has a width of 20 mm (0.79 in).

The material used for most of the frame is a polymer called TR90, making up the rims and the tapered end of the arms. However, there is a metal part of the frame that connects the rim to the arms. This metal part extends up to the outer corners of the rim.

Connected by spring-loaded screws, the arms of Simvey extend up to 140 mm (5.51 in). The metal part may come in gold or silver while the polymer part may be in floral, light black, black, or matte black.

The lenses of Simvey, as defined by the frame, is rectangular in shape, with curved edges. Specifically, the lenses have a width of 52 mm (2.05 in) and a height of 46 mm (1.81 in).

They are made of ultra-pure lenses material. Simvey claims that the lenses can block up to 90% of high-energy blue light while letting 70% of low-energy blue light pass through because of the amber lens tint.

Ultraviolet (UV) rays can also be blocked by the lenses. As an additional feature, the lenses are anti-glare.

Simvey has not stated if they consider putting magnification in their lenses. The lenses are unknown to be Rx- or prescription-ready.

Apart from the glasses, a glasses case, glasses pouch, and cleaning cloth is included in the package. The package is complete with necessary accessories to give the glasses the utmost care and protection.

There is a hard case meant for long storage which best serves as a barrier against mechanical forces; those are, pressure and impact, which may induce breakage.

There is a pouch which may protect the glasses from foreign agents whilst providing easy carriage and transport. Finally, there is a cleaning cloth that effectively removes stains and dust from, without scratching, the lenses’ surface.

Wayfarer is a style that never goes out of fashion. It is classic and suits many kinds of face shapes and sizes. Even though it may appear a bit oversized, it is still favored by the current trend. However, some people who have really small faces may have these kinds of glasses conquer most of the area on their faces.

The frame of the glasses revolves around the base color of black. It suits any kind of outfit for various occasions. So it can be worn by anyone without having the fear that it might not suit them.

The frame being made up of TR90 allows it to have the general properties of a polymer, but even better. Generally, polymers are lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and elastic. TR90 is an advanced polymer material in which flexibility is enhanced.

Without the lenses attached, the frame could fold from temple to temple without breaking. It is wise for Simvey to have a metal part of the frame to act as an accent and to capture a vibe of sophistication.

Yet, TR90 is still incorporated to the tapered end of the arms and to the lenses’ rims, in which corrosion is more prominent.

The frame having a 20 mm nose bridge might be too narrow for people who have big noses. Since the nose pads only extend from the lenses’ rims, the user may feel a bit uncomfortable if the nose pads does not take the shape of the user’s nose.

The screws being supported by springs allow the arms to have strong joints. Dislodging the arms from the temple is less likely to happen for the springs absorb shock, impact, and stress.

It also allows the arms to adjust according to the size of the user’s head.

Meanwhile, the lenses have three important features. The first feature is the anti-blue light capacity. It only blocks 90% of high-energy blue light. This blue light is harmful to the eyes causing eye strain, fatigue, itchiness, redness, dryness, irritation, dizziness, headaches, and sleep disturbance.

The lenses are colored amber. Color distortion is still evident making these glasses not suitable for people whose job involves video and picture editing. More so, 90% blockage of harmful blue light may not be enough for some people who work more than six hours in front of radiation-emitting devices.

Aside from which, the lenses also have anti-UV property which protects the eyes from more serious diseases like eye cancer. Having this property widens the scope of usage for the eyewear. Since sunlight also has UV rays, these glasses could be worn outdoors.

Finally, the lenses have an anti-glare property which allows the user to see clearly on a bright setting.

What I like about these glasses is its affordability. The price ranges from $15 – $18 depending on the color and design of the frames. All of the glasses are subject to a 30-day money-back guarantee so there would be no risk in trying.

Helpful Tips

It is important to take care of your glasses so here are some helpful tips that you can follow.

  • Always keep the eyewear on the pouch or in the hard case when not in use. This will ensure that breakage that is caused by sudden fall can be prevented. Dust and dirt are also minimized.
  • Don’t use any other rough material on cleaning the lenses. Only use the provided cloth to prevent scratches.

Bottom Line

The specifications for Simvey glasses will work out only for a set of certain individuals. This includes light users of radiation-emitting devices who is comfortable with a little color distortion. Nevertheless, it has a low price so a mediocre rating on its lenses is expected.

  • Affordable
  • Flexible Frames
  • Variety of choices
  • Includes case and cleaning cloth

  • May not be that durable
  • Tinting may be unusual at first

Hi Everyone! I created this website to share my thoughts about the solutions to various eye problems that are caused by too much staring at digital screens. I also tackle about preventive measures to minimize the harmful effects of UV rays.

  1. This is something I should have done long ago. I have been looking for a pair of these computer glasses recently to block the blue light. I didn’t realize how bad the blue light is, until I started doing some research. I assume these will work with a tablet or smartphone as well? So these really don’t need to be sized like a traditional pair of glasses? They are kind of a one size fits all model? I didn’t realize these blue light glasses are really affordable. Thank you so much for this review, it’s very timely for me.

    1. Yes, you can use this eyewear for any digital devices. And most computer glasses has one size that fits all. So you don’t have to worry about the fit of the glasses.
